Apple makes publicly and unveil sample, preview of new Mac operating system:

Apple releases a preview version of its new Macintosh operating system; convey and bringing some features, aspects of the iPad to the personal computer PC. The Cupertino, California-based company said the modernized and updated operating system, called Mountain Lion, will be available to Macintosh developers right away and Mac owners can upgrade to the new software in late summer. Apple said Mountain Lion consist of a new Messages application which replaces iChat and allows a user to send unlimited messages, photos and video from a Mac to another Mac or a device running iOS software for example the iPad or iPhone.

 

Moreover Apple said that, It also includes integration with Twitter allowing users to sign in and tweet directly from Safari, Photo Booth and third-party applications. Game Center allows for live multiplayer games to be played across iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch devices. Apple further added that Mountain Lion is the first Mac operating system built with the Internet “cloud” in mind. Apple said “In excess of 100 million users have iCloud accounts, and Mountain Lion makes it easier and simple than ever to arrange and set up iCloud and access documents across your devices,”  A new protection element, feature called Gatekeeper protects the computer against nasty, malicious software by giving the user control over what applications can be installed and downloaded, Apple added. With AirPlay Mirroring, a Mac user can wirelessly send video from a Mac to an HDTV using Apple TV

Apple CEO Said:

Apple CEO Tim Cook up to date in an interview that the new Macintosh operating system takes benefits of features well-liked on the iPad and iPhone. ”We observe and see that people are in love with plenty of apps and functionality here,” Cook said of the iPhone. “Anywhere where that makes sense, we are going to move that over to Mac.” Apple sold 5.2 million Macs last quarter.

Facebook dabbles, experiment with legalize, validating user identity:

Facebook a social networking website commenced testing a way for celebrities, journalists, athletes and others with enormous followings to have their identities validated at the globally popular online social network. ”The new process enables people to verify their identities by submitting a government issued ID,” Facebook said. ”Once verified, they’ll also have the alternative, option to more significantly display an alternate name (nickname, maiden name, etc.) on their timelines as well as their real name.” The validation opportunity was being compressed, rolled out as a minor update, revise to the Subscribe feature at Facebook for people with large numbers of followers.

Government of Pakistan blocks 13,000 obscene, adult websites: Official

The Parliamentary secretary states the Government of Pakistan has blocked 13,000 Porn, adult, obscene websites in the country.

 

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for Information Technology, Nawab Liaqat Ali Khan up to date and informed the National Assembly on Thursday that the government had blocked 13,000 obscene websites on the internet. Recently, the Supreme Court of Pakistan, judiciary and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) took concrete steps and action against adult, porn and unethical websites by blocking or banning access to them in the country, following multiple petitions filed by the community.

“It is a serious issue and we are trying to address it,” said the IT parliamentary secretary, while replying to a Calling Attention Notice, adding that the government was mindful of the situation. 

Hence when asked about what steps were being taken to block such websites, Khan said that these websites were operating from outside and so steps and action neither be taken against them nor could they be penalized. However he maintained that the government is make use of all obtainable and available resources to counter this challenge. 

Parliamentary secretary Khan also proposed the formation of a Ministerial Committee and a sub-committee to look into the issue. Expressing concern over the fast increase in adult, obscene websites, moreover he said, “At present the government of Pakistan has no mechanism to block all of these websites and are trying to devise a mechanism, however, we take action on complaints.” 

He quoted the example of China and India who have installed an expensive Automated Filtration System, which could block anti-government websites as well, but illuminate and clarified that that this system, if installed, would still be unable to block or obstruct all such websites. 

Finally:

It is not only the duty of the Government of Pakistan to take action on such unethical and obscene websites. It is also the moral responsibility of Parents to monitor their children.
