Nokia 808 PureView – innovative camera technology; excellent smartphone:

Nokia has announced new smartphone, Nokia 808 PureView. This is a first smartphone to feature and exclusive latest PureView technology, which entirely blows away any prior expectations about the quality of camera phone photography. The Nokia 808 PureView features a 41-megapixel sensor with our highest performance Carl Zeiss optics to date and Nokia’s brand-new pixel oversampling technology. The technology means that taking typically sized shots (say, 5 megapixels) the camera can use oversampling to combine up to seven pixels into one “pure” pixel, removing the visual noise found on other mobile phone cameras. On top of that, you can zoom in up to 3X without losing any of the details in your shot – and there’s no artificially created pixels in your picture, also.

Otherwise, you can use ‘Creative Shooting Mode’ to capture pictures, images at high resolution – 38 megapixels; then reframe, crop and zoom to find the most excellent “picture within the picture” after the image has been shot and before saving it at convenient sizes for sharing and storage. The oversampling technology also allows for considerably better, improved low light performance than previous camera phones, Compared to a typical optical zoom camera used at full zoom, the Nokia 808 PureView captures over 5x more light. Under normal lighting conditions, performance is also enhanced, as this combination allows for faster secure speeds, reducing the effects of camera tremble.

Video star:

The outstanding camera performance also extends to video. The camera allows for 1080p recording at 30fps, with 4X lossless zoom credit to the huge sensor and powerful image processing which handles over 1 billion pixels per second. At lower resolutions, the capabilities of the zoom increase, with 6X at 720p and up to 12X lossless zoom in nHD (640 x 360) recordings. Certainly great video is nothing without great audio. Nokia 808 PureView also lay down a new standard. The Nokia 808 PureView is the world’s first video recording device to allow recording without misrepresentation at audio levels away from the capability of human hearing. This allows you to even in the harshest of environment, background capture stereo CD-like audio quality.

It’s a smartphone as well:

Outside the camera, it’s also a great smartphone, certainly! Inside, it’s got the most up-to-date Nokia Belle operating system with Feature Pack 1 enhancements. These enhancements allow better performance, personalization and amusement preference, options with a new browser, the latest Nokia Maps and an improved notifications bar. One other great new feature is that the phone can deliver content recorded in surround sound to any stereo headphones, using technology from Dolby. The screen is a four-inch, ClearBlack AMOLED display beneath Gorilla Glass, allowing for a huge clear sight of what’s going on, under any lighting conditions. Inside, there’s a 1.3GHz processor to keep the whole thing purring. There’s 16GB of internal user memory, with support for MicroSD cards up to 32GB to contain all the pictures and video you’ll be shooting. The device is extraordinarily pocketable considering how much there is inside. It’s only slightly larger than the Nokia N8 while the total weight, including the battery, is 169g. Talk time (over a 3G network) is rated at 6.5 hours, with a standby time of up to 540 hours.

WikiLeaks make publicized & publish ‘ five millions’ of Stratfor emails:

WikiLeaks began publishing in excess of five million confidential emails from US-based intelligence firm Stratfor, the anti-secrecy group said. The messages, which date from between July 2004 and December 2011, will expose Stratfor’s “web of informers, pay-off structure, payment-laundering techniques and psychological methods,” claimed a WikiLeaks press release.

“The material demonstrates how a private intelligence agency works, and how they intentionally, target individuals for their corporate and government clients,” added the press release.

The online organization claims to have evidence of the firm’s confidential links to large corporations, such as Bhopal’s Dow Chemical Co. and Lockheed Martin and government agencies, including the US Department of Homeland Security, the US Marines and the US Defense Intelligence Agency.

WikiLeaks founder Australian born-40 Julian Assange is now in Britain fighting extradition to Sweden where he is wanted for questioning on rape and sexual assault allegations, crimes and WikiLeaks has long expressed concern that if he is sent to Sweden, Stockholm would quickly send him on to the United States. Washington is impatient to lay hands on the founder after the organization’s publication of hundreds of thousands of classified US diplomatic files.

To revitalize Radio Pakistan, mobile users and car customer may face more tax:

Imposed Tax by the Government of Pakistan:

The National Assembly panel gave endorsement to two proposals submitted by the PBC to prevail over corporation financial uncertainties. The first suggestion was for the collection of revenue from cellular users and the second one from the buyers of new vehicle. The meeting which was presided over by MNA Belum Hasnain was informed by Director General Radio Murtaza Solangi that they have forwarded a road map to the ministry of information in addition to to the finance ministry to maneuver the PBC out of the financial crisis.

“We are facing a financial crunch, crises and could not survive without generation of new revenue for the state-owned radio,” said Solangi. The meeting, in consultation with other members, supported the proposal to collect 2% revenue on every recharge from cellular users which would be enable Radio Pakistan to collect Rs Four-4 billion each year.

Parliamentary Member’s Views:

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Shakeel Awan, however, raised protest to the proposal, saying that already 26% is being deducted from every mobile recharge of Rs-100. “Already financially crushed masses should be given a relief rather than to push them into a blind alley.”

PML-N’s Nuzhat Sadiq also objected to the initiative and urged the government to find a parallel and feasible alternative to raise a structure and to revise the policies of Radio Pakistan for introducing a new economic policy.

The committee also discussed another proposal to generate revenue for the PBC by collecting a one-time fee on the purchase of new cars. Members of the National Assembly panel contended that the person who can afford a car of Rs2.5 million can also donate some money for the revitalization of the national institution.

Federal Information Minister Said:

Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan assured the committee that the democratic government will not burden the poor people by any means. She said that the government has presented an all-inclusive package to resolve the crisis faced by the PBC including the recommendations which have been put before the committee for further and guidance and support. “Finance ministry has agreed to support these recommendations in the next finance bill,” Minister of information Firdous Ashiq Awan informed the committee. Chairperson of the committee Hasnain further said that a majority of Pakistani people were in the tendency of using mobile phones especially in the night. “So, it will be excellent initiative to collect money from such cellular users,” she observed.
